Helicopter Hanger Visit

Posted on Mar 10 2009 - 9:38am
Our Troop meeting on May 6th will be held at the Army National Guard Air Support facility at the Rochester Airport. We will need to arrive there between 6:45 and 7:00 for a 7:00 pm start. This is open to families. I told them we may have up to 40 people. If we have a larger turnout than that I'll need to see if they can accomodate the larger group. If they handle this visit as they had in the past we'll start with class room discussion of their mission and reponsibilities. Then a tour of the hanger and helicopters, followed by standing on the tarmac as a hovering helicopter goes through preflight systems check before they depart in the evening sky on a flight to maintain their flight time readiness. Sorry, no rides.

Mark your calendars, more details to follow.
